After working ‘behind the stick’ for over ten years I moved into a role at Love Drinks in 2009. Back then, Love Drinks was a fledgeling business, founded and managed by Kirsty Loveday (BEM) to distribute beers, liqueurs and spirits within the UK. I joined as the company’s first employee in a kind of Jack of all trades role, helping with developing marketing tools but primarily pounding the streets of London, selling. After two years of developing accounts, hand selling, training and working trade shows and events, Kirsty hired new blood and I moved into a communications manager role. I developed content and PR for both Love Drinks and the brands that we distributed, and the company became well known for seeding and growing new brands with authenticity and passion. It was a seven-figure company when I left to have my first child.
Highlights include re-developing the company website (not the current incarnation), guest speaking at tradeshows and events, hosting stands at consumer shows, developing national press across television, radio, national papers, glossy magazines, trade media and social media and introducing database marketing into the communications mix.
